Vietnam & Philippines Tour: from Hanoi to Manila

Itinerary

• Day 1: Welcome to Vietnam

  Welcome to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam! Upon arrival, your guide will greet you and escort you to the hotel for check in. The rest of the day is free for you to have a rest and recover from the jet lag.

• Day 2: Hanoi

  Your exploration of Hanoi begins with a visit to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh House on Stilt, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple.

  In the afternoon, learn about the cultural history of Vietnam's ethnic minorities at Museum of Ethnology. After that, spend about 1 hour traveling through the Old Quarter by a rickshaw. Your tour will end at Hoan Kiem Lake, in which you can visit Ngoc Son Temple and watch a memorable water puppet show.

• Day 3: Hanoi - Halong Bay

  After breakfast, you will be driven to Halong Bay (about 3 hours) to embark your cruise. Along the sailing way, you can experience the natural wonder of this World Heritage site with nearly 2,000 limestone islands, grottos, thick forests and hidden coves. The cruise usually offers a variety of optional activities such as kayaking, swimming and diving.

• Day 4: Halong Bay - Da Nang - Hoi An

  After a big brunch, you will disembark before noon. Your guide will meet you at the dork and transfer you to the Hanoi Airport (around 4 hours) for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, be met and drive to Hoi An for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure.

• Day 5: Hoi An

  In the morning, your guide will take you to a fishing village where you can experience the villagers' daily life like a native and learn about the customs and traditions of this village. In the afternoon, explore the tiny town of Hoi An. There are several attractions you must see, including the 400-year-old Japanese Bridge, Chinese Temple and former Vietnamese merchants' houses. Enjoy the charming night of Hoi An on your own.

• Day 6: Hoi An - Da Nang - Ho Chi Minh City

  After breakfast, your guide will escort you to the airport in Da Nang for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and the rest of the day is free for you to have a rest or go out for exploration.

• Day 7: Ho Chi Minh City

  After breakfast at the hotel, your guide will take you to Cu Chi Tunnels, which is an immense network of connecting underground tunnels used by Viet Cong soldiers as hiding spots during combat, and then return to the city to visit War Remnants Museum. Proceed to Reunification Palace. Later, stroll through Ben Thanh Market, Old Saigon Post Office and Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat).

• Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City

  Today, you will drive through verdant rice paddies and quaint pastoral landscapes, and then reach the Mekong Delta (My Tho) area. You would see floating markets, Khmer pagodas and villages for more traditional Vietnamese culture.

• Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City - Manila

  After breakfast, your guide will pick you up for your flight to Manila, the capital of Philippines. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and escorted to the hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at leisure.

• Day 10: Manila

  Today, expect to see Casa Manila Museum, San Agustin Church, Manila Cathedral, Fort Santiago and Rizal shrine.

  Proceed to the bizarre Chinese Cemetery with the next stop of Chinatown, which offers authentic Chinese medicines, food and other merchandise. After a short break at the hotel, your guide will take you to Makati, a major cultural and entertainment hub in Manila.

• Day 11: Manila - Puerto Princesa

  After breakfast, fly to Puerto Princesa. Upon arrival, and after a short break, start your tour with a visit to Palawan Museum, Plaza Cuartel, and Immaculate Conception Cathedral. After that, head for the Palawan Wildlife Rescue and Conservation Center, home to some endangered animals in the Philippines. In the end, make a stop at the Iwahidg Prison and Penal Farm.

  In the evening, enjoy the fresh seafood at Ka Lui's Restaurant. Continue on to watch the fireflies sparkling on the mangrove trees along Iwahig River.

• Day 12: Puerto Princesa

  Today, you will transfer to San Rafael to start a full-day trek to the Batak Tribe community, one of the oldest known tribes of the Philippines. Prepare a bag of rice, sugar, coffee as gifts for the tribal folks. Enjoy lunch with the Bataks. When the tour completes, return to your hotel in Puerto Princesa by car.

• Day 13: Puerto Princesa

  In the morning, you will drive about 1.5 hours to Sabang, from which you can enter the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature with a navigable underground river. Here you can watch birds, trek the mountain, take a paddle boat to mangrove or explore the deeper part of the forest. After that, return back to the hotel and the rest of the day is free for you.

• Day 14: Puerto Princesa - EI Nido

  In the early morning, you will spend about 5 hours driving to El Nido, the best beach and island destination in the Philippines. Upon arrival, take a 45-minute boat ride to the resort for check-in. After lunch, join in the island-hopping activities to enjoy natural wonders of enchanting lagoons, remote islands and mysterious caves.
