Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival, Ulaanbaatar
Upon arrival at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Ulaanbaatar.

Day 2: Ulaanbaatar
Your tour today starts from Gandan Monastery, the largest and most important monastery of Mongolia. Continue on to explore the National History Museum and Chinggis Square, where you will see the Parliament House, National Opera and City Hall. Later, climb up to the Zaisan Hill to get a great view of the city. Enjoy traditional dancing and khoomii (Mongolian throat singing) this evening.

Day 3: Ulaanbaatar - Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dune
After breakfast, drive to Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dune (about 5-6 hours), where you will have a day excursion to Hugnu Khaan Mountain and sand dune on the steppe with a unique area combining forest, Gobi sand dunes, and rocky mountains. Overnight in a ger camp.

Day 4: Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dune - Karakorum
Drive to Karakorum (about 1-2 hours), the former capital city of a great land empire, established by Chinggis Khan. Spend some time to visit the oldest Buddhist Erdene Zuu Monastery and Karakorum Museum, both of them display some of the best works of religious art and architecture in Mongolia. Overnight in a ger camp.

Day 5: Karakorum - Hustai National Park
Travel to Hustai National Park in the morning (about 5-6 hours' drive) to run into the Przewalski wild horses, re-introduced back into the wild in their native grassland. Continue to visit the local information center learning about the history of the last pure wild horses and the history of the area. You have a chance to go horse riding in the evening. Overnight in a ger camp.

Day 6: Hustai National Park - Ulaanbaatar
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar after breakfast (about 2-3 hours). In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan. In the rest of the day, you can shop at leisure, or take part in an independent tour.
