Nintendo's First Theme Park to Open in Osaka, Japan
It has become clear that Nintendo will partner with Universal Parks & Resorts to build the world's first Nintendo theme park in Osaka, Japan, before 2020.
A report by Japanese news outlet Sankei discloses that Universal will invest over $350 million into the Nintendo-themed zone, which features Nintendo's most beloved games and characters like Mario and is likely to present a ride on a Mario Kart racetrack and a trip through Luigi's haunted mansion in the near future. The park will also feature attractions based on Pokémon, the Legend of Zelda, and even Donkey Kong.
Expected to be completed in time for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, the project is envisioned as being on the same scale as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando, with Nintendo-themed restaurants and collectible shops.
This new Nintendo-themed zone is bound to rekindle many people's childhood memories and thus become an ideal destination for family travel, which will definitely lend great charm to the glamorous city of Osaka.
