Itinerary

• Day 1: Arrival, Kota Kinabalu

  Upon arrival in Kota Kinabalu, our representative will meet you and escort you to the hotel for check-in.

• Day 2: Kinabalu Park Adventure

  This morning, you will take a scenic 2 hours' drive to Kinabalu Park. Passing by villages and paddy fields, make a brief stop at Nabalu Market. On arrival, enjoy the refreshing and cooling air as you proceed for a walk along the nature trails in the Botanical Garden. As one of the most important biological sites in the world with more than 4,500 species of flora and fauna, it is an ideal place to get close to nature.

  Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. Later, depart for the Poring Hot Spring. Here you can soak yourself in the water to smooth the sore muscles or hike 20 minutes to try the Canopy Walkway. After the tour, return to Kota Kinabalu for overnight.

  Note: As Poring Hot Spring is a public area, you may expect a big crowd of visitors and locals during weekends & public holidays.

• Day 3: Kota Kinabalu - Sandakan - Kinabatangan River

  Wake up early and then head to the airport for your flight to Sandakan.

  On arrival, you will visit the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Proceed to the free roaming area feeding platform, where you can view the younger Orangutans learn to be outside and play a large climbing frame. Nearby is the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre.

  Later, depart to jetty for an hour boat cruise up to the Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary. After arrival, enjoy lunch at Abai Jungle Restaurant and then check into the Abai Jungle Lodge.

  In the late afternoon, you will experience a cruise to search for wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and continue to explore the "Jungle at night" at the nature boardwalk with your nature guide.

• Day 4: Abai - Sukau

  Early morning, take a river trip to Pitas Oxbow Lake to observe wildlife. Back to the lodge for breakfast, and then you will learn about the Tree Planting Project.

  After enjoying lunch arranged by the villagers at Abai Village, the boat will cruise up the river to Sukau Village in search of primates especially the wild orangutans, birds, pygmy elephant, and other wildlife. Upon Arrival at Sukau, check in to Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge.

  In the late afternoon, take another river cruise to Menanggul River, a small tributary of the Kinabatangan. After the tour, return to the lodge for dinner.

• Day 5: Sukau - Danum Valley

  Have an early breakfast and then depart for Lahad Datu town. On arrival, proceed to Borneo Nature Tours office for registration and briefing. You will check into Borneo Rainforest Lodge around noon and enjoy lunch here.

  In the afternoon, you will enjoy a walk through Nature Trails and Canopy Walkway for a close-up observation of the rainforest. Back for dinner, and then continue with a Night Drive in an open-top vehicle in search of nocturnal animals.

• Day 6: Danum Valley

  This morning, you will have a Jungle Trek to the Kadazandusun burial site - "Coffin Cliff", followed by "View Point" for a bird's eye view of the area.

  Return to the lodge for lunch and have a short break. In the afternoon, you might continue a Jungle Trek or go for a relaxing session of "tubing" down the Danum River (subject to weather and water level condition).

  After dinner, take a Night Walk in search of nocturnal animals.

• Day 7: Danum Valley - Lahad Datu - Kota Kinabalu

  Today is free for you to do some exploration on your own before heading to Lahad Datu Airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu. On arrival, be met by your private guide and escorted to the hotel for check-in.

  Enjoy some free time before your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight to next destination.
