Best Places to Visit in Bhutan

Paro is frequently referred to as the "Last Shangri-La" on earth because of its lush flora and mysterious religious landmarks, including The Paro Taktsang, Paro Dzong, Ta Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang, and Drukgyel Dzong. The Paro Taktsang, commonly known as "Tiger's Nest," is the most famous one perching on the cliffs of the valley where Paro is situated. You've probably seen photographs of it in your social media feed more often than not. The complex was built at the end of the 17th century, and despite the passage of time, it has remained 900 meters above the ground on a cliff overlooking Paro.
- THIMPHU
The distinctive cultural riches in Thimphu were nourished by the Great Himalayan Range, which helped to establish Thimphu as a cultural hotspot in Bhutan. Travelers often explore the Thimphu Dzong, Buddha Dordenma, and Memorial Chorten.
- PUNAKHA
Punakha is given fame by its Punakha Dzong, often regarded as Bhutan's most stunning Buddhist shrine. What is less commonly known about the site is that practically all of the nation's treasures are stored here, and the royal family has even had weddings here.
- GANGTEY
For lovers of nature, the location is perfect. For a breathtaking perspective of the Phobjikha valley, go to Gangtey Goemba. Then take a trek along the Gangtey Nature Trail for a chance to authentically take in Bhutan's breathtaking surroundings.
- TRONGSA
It is the location of the royal family's ancestral home, from where the country's first two kings governed. A spectacular monastery called Trongsa Dzong is close by. With its staggered layout of Buddhist structures, it is a marvel of Bhutanese architecture.
